The Joy of Learning
Challenge your mind. Improve your well-being.
Just recently I embarked on a few courses. One was refreshing knowledge that I already had but also delving much deeper into the topics history and other aspects and the other was techniques for a brand new treatment. Six days in total can be quite intense and tiring when you are training but at the same time I was on an absolute high and I realised the impact it was having on my wellbeing. My husband commented that I was brighter, excited, full of passion and very chatty!
Challenging your mind by learning new things and refreshing your knowledge of your chosen passion has so many positive aspects.
Exposure to new ideas can fuel your creativity and provide inspiration. It gives you a sense of purpose. It stimulates your brain and maintains cognitive function as you mature. Its always good to keep your mind active.
Learning something new sometimes means stepping out of your comfort zone and facing challenges. When you overcome the challenges it can boost your confidence and self esteem leading to personal growth and development.
Engaging in learning a new activity keeps your brain active and stimulated. It can improve memory and cognitive function. There is also the curiosity associated with a new skill which can help you become more confident in taking that step to tackle future challenges.
We live in a fast paced world so its important to be able to adapt to new situations, continually challenging your mind.
Although I interact with clients every day I do work alone so training and getting together with like minded individuals is really important to me to share ideas, make new friends and build meaningful relationships.
In my industry I am required to attend CPD - (continued personal development) courses to retain my membership with my association. It enhances my professional qualifications and I’m able to acquire new knowledge and skills, any excuse for further learning!
I personally feel that learning is a source of enjoyment and fulfilment. It provides a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction which contributes to a sense of wellbeing and quality of life which not only enriches you but enhances your resilience.
If your mind is challenged and your soul is fed then you can lead a more fulfilling existence. That’s how I personally feel. I finish one course and then I think what can I learn now?!
Feed your mind
Feed your soul
Feed your passion
Bring out that spark in life

Essential oils can be diffused in the air with an oil burner or an electric diffuser or diluted and applied to pulse points while you study. I add the diluted oil to my wrist and inhale or a couple of drops on a tissue is beneficial.
Happy learning!
